1970 On April 26th, the Convention on the Establishment of the World Intellectual Property Organization came into effect, and the World Intellectual Property Organization was formally established. On June 5438+ 10, 2000, at the 35th General Assembly of the organization, China and Algeria put forward a proposal to establish "World Intellectual Property Day", which was adopted by the General Assembly and thus established.
World Intellectual Property Day is a theme day, which aims to promote all sectors of society to establish awareness of respecting knowledge, advocating science and protecting intellectual property rights, and create a legal environment to encourage knowledge innovation and protect intellectual property rights. Every year, the World Intellectual Property Organization sets a theme, and all member countries should hold various publicity activities during World Intellectual Property Day around the theme of that year in order to achieve the purpose of setting up a theme day. On this day every year, various activities are held all over the world and all over China.
