The reason why Khrushchev spread grain;
The agricultural problem has always been a weak link in the development of the national economy in the early post-war period of the Soviet Union. Due to the long-term implementation of the "Stalin model" and the unilateral development of heavy industry, the long-term development of agriculture in the Soviet Union was slow, farmers' enthusiasm for production was not high, and the grain output was even lower than that in the period of the Russian Empire.
From 65438 to 0949, Khrushchev adopted the "square hole sowing method" according to the traditional corn planting experience of Ukrainian farmers, which enabled local farmers to plant 2 million hectares of corn at one time and achieved a bumper harvest. This excited Khrushchev, who looked at corn in a new way. At the end of the same year, Khrushchev was transferred to the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the United Bolsheviks and the First Secretary of Moscow.
As soon as he took office, he planned to promote corn planting. To this end, he first conducted two experiments in his own garden, both of which were successful. 1953, he planted corn on the farm around his home, which changed the farm from "poor in the past" to "one of the most advanced and profitable farms in the country". These successful experiences carried Khrushchev's mind, and made him sprout the idea of popularizing corn planting in the whole Soviet Union.
