Sihong, located in the northwest of Jiangsu Province, was originally from Honshu, Sizhou. It is a modern medium-sized commercial and tourist city rising rapidly at the junction of Jiangsu and Anhui, an important node city of Nanjing metropolitan area and Xuzhou metropolitan area, and a meeting point of North and South cultures. Xu culture, represented by Sihong, permeates and blends with Central Plains culture, Wuyue culture and Chu culture. Sihong is the wine capital of China, where Shuanggou Daqu, one of the top ten famous wines, is produced. Sihong occupies 40% of the water surface of Hongze Lake, one of the four largest freshwater lakes in China, and the National Hongze Lake Wetland Park is embedded in it.
Paleontologists believe that Sihong is one of the centers of biological evolution in the Cenozoic world and one of the centers of human origin. It has the reputation of the pulse of Chinese civilization, the source of Huaihe civilization and the root of Jiangsu civilization. Sizhou (Linhuai) in history is as prosperous as Chuzhou (Huai 'an), both of which are historical cities along the Huaihe River.
