The successful research and development of alkali-tolerant raw rice marks another breakthrough in rice seed industry, which is of great strategic significance to China's grain strategic security: 280 million mu of saline-alkali land is in urgent need of transformation. If saline-alkali tolerant rice can be extended to all saline-alkali land in China, it is expected to be extended to 654.38 billion mu in just three years.
