In order to change this style of whitewashing peace and moaning without illness, the "First Seven Scholars" retro movement appeared in literature. "The First Seven Scholars" refers to a literary school in Hongzhi and Hongzhi, with seven representatives, namely, He Jingming, Kang Hai, Wang, Bian Gong,. They emphasized that articles should learn from Qin and Han Dynasties, ancient poems should praise Han and Wei Dynasties, and patriarchal clan system should flourish in Tang Dynasty. They put forward the slogan "Literature should flourish in Qin and Han Dynasties and poetry in Tang Dynasty". Although the first seven poets only imitated the poems of the ancients, the form was dull and the content was not innovative, but they still made some achievements in cracking down on stereotyped writing and advocating retro. After the first seven poets, there appeared a literary school that continued to advocate retro in Jiajing and Years, represented by Wang Shizhen, Zong Chen, Liang Youyu, Wu, Xu Zhongxing and others, and was called "the last seven poets".
