In the Yangtze River basin, there are countless creatures, including all kinds of fish and aquatic plants. It is one of the seven rivers with the richest biodiversity in the world. At present, there are 2 species of freshwater cetaceans in the Yangtze River Basin, including 424 species of fish, 753 species of zooplankton, 0.008 species of benthos and 0.000 species of aquatic higher plants. Although the Yangtze River basin is very large, there are many fish living in the Yangtze River, and some freshwater species are in an endangered state, but now some results have been achieved in the case of no fishing, and some lakes are even full of fish.
The Yangtze sturgeon, 1988, is listed as a national first-class protected animal, also known as sturgeon, sturgeon, bighead carp and salad fish, which is one of the rare and large fish endemic to China, indicating that the number of Yangtze sturgeon is really rare and needs our protection. Acipenser Changjiang mainly feeds on benthic invertebrates, and sometimes it also eats plant debris, pupae, epiphytic algae and small fish. Because the Yangtze sturgeon eats a lot, where there are Yangtze sturgeons, it means that the food in this area is very rich. There may be Yangtze sturgeon in the tributaries of the lower Jinsha River and the upper Yangtze River, but those deep-sea oceans are not suitable for their survival.
As one of the rare large fish endemic to China, Acipenser Changjiang is relatively large. The mature Yangtze sturgeon can reach 0.75 m-1.05 m in length and 4.5 kg- 12.5 kg in weight. Affected by many factors, the natural reproduction of ACIPENSER Changjiang has stopped after 2000. However, with the efforts of researchers, we have begun to tackle the problem of artificial breeding of rare fish, and now there are traces of sturgeon in the Yangtze River.
There are many fish in the Yangtze River basin, and some friends may think that we can fish at will. However, due to the influence of our human activities, the ecological function of the Yangtze River basin has deteriorated, the number of many rare and endemic fish has been greatly reduced, and some rare animals are on the verge of despair. In order to protect the fishery resources in the Yangtze River basin, since 2003, the Yangtze River basin has been closed to fishing for 3-4 months every year. Although some fish may breed in a short time of several months, those bred fish are caught again after the end of the annual fishing ban, so it is difficult to increase the fish population.
Because the sexual maturity time of the main economic fish in the Yangtze River basin is mainly 3-4 years, it is impossible for them to recover their population size quickly in just a few months. In order to avoid the situation of no fish to eat in the future, measures are taken to buy 2-3 generations for those fish to breed, so that their population size will continue to grow, which brings hope for protecting the species diversity in the Yangtze River basin. We have formulated a ten-year fishing ban plan for the Yangtze River, with a tentative implementation period of 10. 202 1 is the first year of "ten-year fishing ban" in the Yangtze River. Now that the lake has been closed for more than a year, the fish in the Yangtze River basin have gradually increased, and some lakes have even appeared "full of fish".
We should know the fact that not only the number of fish in the Yangtze River basin has decreased, but also the situation of fish in other basins in the world is not optimistic. Scientists have studied 2456 rivers around the world, which cover almost all continents except deserts and polar regions. Can be said to be a global research project. In the study, after analyzing the data of more than 10000 fish, the researchers found that more than 50% of the fish were strongly affected by our human activities, and only 14% of the fish in the basin were less affected, accounting for only 22% of the freshwater fish species in the world. Therefore, it is urgent to take various measures to protect the biodiversity of rivers, and our country has been working hard and taking the lead in implementing the ten-year fishing ban plan in the Yangtze River, and the results are obvious to all.
In the study, the researchers also found that more than 170 species of fish in the world have been completely extinct, and 23% of the fish have also been threatened. In fact, not only fish, but also other animals and plants are similar. Scientists have found that the population size of many wild animals has been greatly reduced, so some scientists are worried that the sixth extinction may occur, and the "culprit" leading to this extinction is us, not the asteroid hitting the earth or the super volcanic eruption. Of course, some scientists think that the so-called sixth extinction may be a bit "alarmist". In any case, the number of many animals and plants on the earth is indeed decreasing, which requires us to pay attention to and protect wild animals and plants. Protecting animals and plants is not just a slogan, but requires the joint efforts of the whole world. Now that our country has taken the lead in action, we hope that with everyone's efforts, the ecology of the earth will be protected in the future.
