Why is Shaanxi called Sanqin?
I'm from Shaanxi, and I've heard people talk about the land of Sanqin since I was a child. I thought Sanqin was a specific place name like Shiyan (Hubei), but it turned out that Sanqin had a history and was related to a failed hero.

There are three dynasties in the history of China, which is the most glorious time of China. Qin, Han and Tang dynasties were extremely proud and could fight. They surrendered to one or two countries and just ate noodles. Ordinary countries will give some face when they hear this name. Among them, the Qin Dynasty was the first unified dynasty in China, which fused the divided China together, and an emperor gave orders in a unified way, so that our own people would no longer fight for fame and fortune. Behind China's great loss, the people of China should thank the emperor. Ying Zheng, king of Qin, called himself Qin Shihuang. Is this Qin his last name? No, Qin Shihuang's name is Ying Zheng, but his surname has always been controversial. Some people say that his surname is Win, others say that his surname is Zhao, and others say that his surname is Zi and Lu. I'm not sure. But he said he was Qin Shihuang, which showed that he had special feelings for Qin. During the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, Qin was in Shaanxi, and Qin Shihuang turned Qin into Qin, with its capital in Xianyang, Shaanxi, so Qin became synonymous with Shaanxi, but what does this have to do with Sanqin? Are there two in the Qin Dynasty?

Qin Shihuang, a clever SHEN WOO, didn't let his legacy last forever. He died at the age of 50, and the hard-earned Qin Dynasty was defeated by Qin Ershi and Hu Hai. Xiang Yu, the overlord of the Western Chu Dynasty, took the lead in capturing Xianyang, and the powerful Qin Dynasty was destroyed before it could react. Then Liu Bang was even more ambitious. He wanted to compete with Xiang Yu for the final fruit. Xiang Yu is not the headstrong man in the book. He can destroy the Qin Dynasty only by people like Chen Sheng and Guangwu who can only shout slogans. After Xiang Yu destroyed the people and city of Xianyang, he did not stay there, but returned to Pengcheng (Xuzhou) to take a long-term view and did not rush to be emperor.

Xiang Yu saw that Liu Bang was not in the pool, and a duel would come sooner or later, so he had to start a macro layout to avoid being caught off guard like the Qin Dynasty. When Xiang Yu occupied Xianyang, he handed over Zhang Han, the general of Qin, and Sima Xin and Dong Kun. These three men were all right-hand men of Xiang Yu later, all killed in the battle of Chu and Han, and all loyal subjects of the overlord of Chu. In order to suppress Liu Bang's influence, Xiang Yu divided Shaanxi into three parts, northern Shaanxi and Guanzhong, excluding southern Shaanxi. Xiang Yu named Zhang Han King Yong, lived in Huangqiu (Xingping) and guarded Xianyang West and Gansu East. Sima Xin was named King Sai, based in Liyang (Yanliang), and was responsible for guarding the area east of Xianyang. Dong Yun was named Zhai Wang and stationed in Gao Nu (Yan 'an) to defend northern Shaanxi. In this way, Shaanxi is divided into three parts with Xianyang as the center. The mountain across the south of Guanzhong is called Qinling Mountains, and the natural barrier has become a line of defense. Xiang Yu himself sat in Xuzhou in the southeast, blocking Liu Bang from the south of the Yellow River.

Xiang Yu gave Shaanxi to three surrendered love generals, and spent a lot of money to keep Xianyang, the old capital of Qin Dynasty, in order to sweep away the warlord melee, finally defeat Liu Bang and establish his own dynasty in Xianyang. Unfortunately, the plan didn't change soon. Xiang Yu lost the world, and Liu Bang established the Han Dynasty. Shaanxi is still Qin, but it is divided into three parts, from which the land of Sanqin comes. The original land of Sanqin did not include southern Shaanxi, but only northern Shaanxi and Guanzhong area. Later, in order to remember the big picture, northern Shaanxi, Guanzhong and southern Shaanxi were divided into three parts, collectively known as Sanqin.
