G.E.M. grew up in a musical family. His mother graduated from the vocal music department of Shanghai Conservatory of Music, his grandmother taught singing, his uncle played the violin and his grandfather played saxophone in the orchestra. Influenced by his family, G.E.M. likes music and singing since childhood.

G.E.M. began to compose and write lyrics at the age of five, and participated in educational TV performances at the age of seven. 13 years old, completed the piano of Grade 8, and co-produced the advertisement for the charity sale of California red moon cakes with Eason Chan.

G.E.M. Primary School is a member of the poetry class of China United Christian Primary School. She attended Zhenguang Women's College in middle school and participated in gymnastics after school. I participated in various singing competitions in high school and won five championships a year.
