Ji 'an is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Jiangxi Province, which was called Luling and Jizhou in ancient times. It is located in the middle of Jiangxi Province, with the middle reaches of Ganjiang River in Hunan Province in the west and central Luo Xiao in the south. According to the rich Ji Tai Plain, the terrain is mainly mountainous and hilly, which belongs to subtropical humid climate, with a total area of 25,283 square kilometers. As of June, 2022 10, the whole city had jurisdiction over 2 districts 10 county, and was in charge of 1 county-level city. By the end of 2022, the permanent population of the city was 4,423,800.

Ji 'an City is located in the middle of Jiangxi Province and the middle reaches of Ganjiang River. Topographically, it belongs to the middle of the Luo Xiao Mountains and is the throat passage of Hunan and Jiangxi provinces. The geographical location is between 25 58 ′ 32 ″-27 57 ′ 50 ″ north latitude and113 46 ′-115 56 ′ east longitude. The whole city is about 2 18km long from east to west and 208km wide.
It is adjacent to Chongren County and Lean County of Fuzhou City and Ningdu County and Xingguo County of Ganzhou City in the east, Ganxian District, Nankang District and Shangyou County of Ganzhou City in the south, Guidong County, Yanling County and Chaling County of Hunan Province in the west, and fengcheng city, Zhangshu City, Xinyu City and Pingxiang City in Yichun City in the north.
