After the outbreak of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, on August 22nd, 1937, 1937, the first, second and fourth armies of the Chinese Red Army of Workers and Peasants were reorganized into the Eighth Route Army of the National Revolutionary Army, with three divisions under its jurisdiction: 1 15, 120 and 129. Each division has two brigades, each brigade has two regiments, and each division has a quota of 15000 people.
Brigade 386 is the first-class main force of 129 division.
Its predecessor was 3 1 Army of the Fourth Army of the Chinese Workers and Peasants Red Army. After the adaptation, the 386 brigade has about 5700 people. Chen Geng is the brigade commander and Chen Zaidao is the deputy brigade commander. It has jurisdiction over 77 1 regiment and 772 regiment. After a year of fighting, the 77 1 regiment of 1938 was transferred to the independent brigade of 129 Division, the new 1 regiment of 129 Division and the third regiment of the East Column were transferred to 386 Brigade, with a total of more than 8,000 people.
1942 in may and June, the 386th brigade was reorganized, and the number of the 772nd regiment remained unchanged. The new 1 regiment, supplementary regiment and supplementary brigade were changed to 16, 17 and 18 respectively. The 386th Brigade has four regiments: the 772nd Regiment, the 16 Regiment, the 17 Regiment and the 18 Regiment. The total strength should be around 8000 to 10000.
During the period from 1942 to 1943, the 386th Brigade was also downsized under the extremely difficult enemy's rear War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, and the number of personnel may be greatly reduced. Chen Geng is not the only brigade commander of the 386th Brigade. After Chen Geng returned to the home front, Wang Jinshan and Liu Zhong successively served as brigade commanders. This Wang Jinshan may be the prototype of Li Yunlong.
During the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period, the 386th Brigade was flexible, brave and tenacious, and successively won battles in Changshengkou, Qigen Village, Huangyadi, Shentouling and Xiangtangpu, and participated in the "Anti-Nine-Road Siege" and the Hundred Regiments War. It caused great losses to the Japanese aggressors and made great achievements. The Japanese aggressors became angry from embarrassment, and even played the slogan of "Specialized in 386 Brigade".
Due to its outstanding military achievements, this brigade has produced many founding stars.
