Tiger Leaping Gorge, one of the deepest canyons in China. Northeast of Longpan Township, Yulong Naxi Autonomous County, Yunnan Province (formerly Lijiang Naxi Autonomous County). The canyon is 16 km long, the main peak of Yulong Snow Mountain on the south bank is 5596 meters above sea level, Zhongdian Snow Mountain on the north bank is 5396 meters above sea level, and the river width in the middle reaches is only 30-60 meters.

Tiger Leaping Gorge, known as "danger", is one of the deepest canyons in China. Tiger Leaping Gorge can be divided into Shangri-La section and Lijiang section. Hutiaoxia is on the road from Lijiang to Shangri-La, and it takes nearly three hours to drive from Lijiang to Hutiaoxia Town. After flowing through the first bay of the Yangtze River in Shigu Town, the fast-flowing Jinsha River suddenly turned north and squeezed through the gap between Haba Snow Mountain and Yulong Snow Mountain, forming the most spectacular grand canyon in the world. The narrowest part of the canyon is the famous Tiger Leaping Gorge landscape.

According to legend, tigers can jump over the Jinsha River by stepping on boulders in the river. At that time, Yao Maoshu's expedition once drifted here. Although the hero's ambition was not rewarded, this place became famous. There is also a way up the mountain to enter the Tiger Leaping Gorge Scenic Area.
