In 2023, there will be 49,000 participants in the Ryan Marathon, including full marathon13,000, half marathon16,000 and 5km marathon, including parent-child marathon and couple marathon. The number of people taking part in this project is 20000.
The origin of Zheng Kai Marathon
On August 6th, 2006, a post on "Initiative on Holding Zhengzhou-Bian International Marathon" attracted wide attention of people in Kaifeng and Zhengzhou. On the first day, Wang Xiangyang, who was hiking along Ryan Avenue, released this "whim" initiative on Dahe Forum under the screen names "Half Moon Brother" and "With the Wind", and it spread quickly on the Internet. Major media actively participate in it, with a view to promoting this concept.
With the full support of the municipal governments of Zheng and Bian, and the promotion of various media, everything was ready, and ten thousand people signed it. The two governments submitted letters of support, and the Preparatory Committee was established, only subject to the approval of the State Sports General Administration. After more than five months of hard work and expectation, on February 15, 2007, the news that made Zhengzhou Bianmin happy finally came: Zhengzhou Bianmin International Marathon was approved.
