In the era of planned economy, Changchun football team is still a second-rate team. 1988 was officially dissolved, and later such outstanding talents as Feng Jiang were sent to the national team. 1994 after the professionalization, football grew a bud in Changchun unconsciously. After about two years of brewing, Yatai Football Club, as the only professional club in the province (independent legal person, independent accounting, independent operation, self-financing and accepting the industry management of the Football Association), was founded by Jilin Yatai (Group) Co., Ltd., with an initial investment of nearly 20 million yuan. After the approval of Changchun Municipal Government, it shall negotiate with Changchun Municipal Sports Commission.
Changchun Yatai Club Stadium (7 blocks) was officially renamed Changchun Yatai fc on1February 2, 9971. The first head coach of the club was Li Xuchuan, a native of Liaoning. The chairman of the club is Mr. Song Shanglong, president of Jilin Yatai (Group) Co., Ltd., and the consultant is Mr. Nian Weisi, former president of China Football Association. At the beginning of its establishment, the club was widely valued by provincial and municipal leaders. Mi, member of the Standing Committee of Jilin Provincial Party Committee and secretary of Changchun Municipal Party Committee, personally asked questions. Enri, vice mayor of Changchun City, often comes to the club, and the leaders of the former Jilin Provincial Sports Commission and the Changchun Municipal Sports Commission also give strong support. Changchun Yatai fc has changed four coaches since its establishment on June 6th, 1996. In the 2007 season, Changchun Yatai once again led the league standings for many times and gradually became the most powerful contender for the championship seat. After unremitting efforts, it successfully won the Super League championship in Shenzhen on 1 14, becoming the fifth champion club in the professional league since 14.
