According to the theoretical requirements of quality education and the actual situation of our school, the school put forward specific reform plans and operational requirements from the aspects of curriculum, educational strategies, educational methods and educational evaluation, and made tentative explorations in the following aspects:
(1) Reform the traditional report card of students and establish the report card of students' quality development. In order to guide and standardize the educational behavior of teachers and parents and students' learning development behavior with the goal of all-round development of students' quality, since September 1994, the school has taken the reform of students' quality evaluation system as a breakthrough in implementing quality education, and replaced the traditional report cards that strengthen academic performance and ignore all-round development of quality with quality development reports. The appearance of the quality development report form has been highly valued by the provincial and municipal education committees and all walks of life. Nearly ten newspapers, such as China Education News and Guangming Daily, reported or reprinted them one after another. The leaders of provincial and municipal education committees fully affirmed that the practice of replacing the report form with the quality development report form can be popularized and applied in other schools.
(2) Reform traditional teaching methods and establish a classroom teaching mode centered on students' autonomous learning. The school firmly holds that classroom teaching is the main position to implement quality education, takes students' autonomous learning as the center of classroom teaching, reforms the traditional fixed procedures of teachers' speaking and students' listening, and implements the teaching mode centered on students' autonomous learning. Teachers are required to take students' autonomous learning as the primary purpose of classroom teaching. At the same time, teachers' roles and attitudes in classroom teaching are clearly defined. Practice has proved that this kind of classroom teaching, which is oriented to all students and centered on students' autonomous learning, can well mobilize each student's learning enthusiasm, greatly improve the quality of classroom teaching, and students have also achieved excellent results in the senior high school entrance examination over the years. Every year, students win the first and second prizes in English, mathematics, chemistry and physics competitions. In the past ten years, there have been five champions in the senior high school entrance examination.
(3) Extracurricular elective courses are generally offered, so that every student's hobbies can be developed. Cultivating every student's interests and hobbies, so that every student's interests and hobbies can be developed, is the purpose of offering activity courses in our school. For many years, the school has been insisting on offering extracurricular elective courses in grades one and two. It is required to offer at least two extracurricular elective courses in each grade and subject each semester. There are about 20 courses in each grade, and the main courses are operation and practice. "Let all students adapt to the future" is the general requirement of implementing quality education in schools, and it is also a provincial key topic. Over the past few years, the school has formed more than 60 school-level sub-topics, and teachers have made research plans and implemented quality education according to the requirements.
In order to urge teachers to seriously implement quality education, the school is driven by examples and promoted at different levels. For example, when exploring the teaching mode of autonomous learning, the school first conducts experimental research in Chinese, mathematics, physics and other disciplines. On the basis of the results, it is clearly put forward that experimental teachers should have good demonstration classes, young and middle-aged teachers should have good research classes and old teachers should have good trial lectures. The school attaches great importance to the construction of teaching staff. In recent years, 28 teachers have won prizes in the basic teaching skills competition for young and middle-aged teachers in provinces and cities and in various audio-visual evaluation classes. At the same time, school teachers have published more than 200 papers in various journals at all levels and won many awards in the evaluation of teaching papers at all levels.
