Rural revitalization was put forward at the meeting of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau (PSC) held on March 5, 2008. The meeting deliberated and adopted the opinions of the Central Committee on deepening reform and further strengthening rural basic work. This document puts forward the strategic goal and implementation path of comprehensively promoting rural revitalization, clarifies the overall thinking and strategic direction of rural revitalization, and is an important guiding document for rural revitalization strategy. The orientation of rural revitalization is the rural areas in China, including the urban-rural fringe and rural areas. In the strategy of rural revitalization, China government regards rural revitalization as an important strategic direction of building a socialist modern country in an all-round way. Through measures such as agricultural revitalization, rural industry revitalization, ecological revitalization, cultural revitalization and social service revitalization, it strives to promote rural modernization and all-round economic and social prosperity, and achieve the goals of modernization, beauty, livability and happiness.
