On August 1935 and 1 day, the delegation of China * * * Producers' Party in * * * Producers' International Conference published "Letter to All Compatriots for Anti-Japanese Salvation" (referred to as "August 1st Declaration") in the name of the Central Committee of China and the Central Government of the Soviet Union, which comprehensively expounded the Party's anti-Japanese national unity. During the December 29th Movement, students in Peiping led by the Party shouted the slogan "Stop the civil war and unite against Japan". The Wayaobao meeting criticized the "closed-doorism" mistake in the anti-Japanese United front and changed the slogan of "worker-peasant country" to "people's country". The Red Army marched eastward to return to Li, calling for "truce and peace, unity and resistance to Japan".
