March of the Volunteers's lyrics, the national anthem of China, are the theme words of the movie script "Children of the Storm" written by Mr. Tian Han in prison in February 1935. The music was written by Mr. Nie Er at that time, mainly to encourage Chinese children to bravely fight against Japanese invaders.
Although the central government decided to make March of the Volunteers the National Anthem of the People's Republic of China, the national anthem has been sung by people for nearly 60 years, and it has been highly recognized and praised by people at home and abroad.
It has made great and indelible contributions to the socialist modernization and development. However, with the development of the situation, the national anthem has gone through the tortuous process of establishment, abolition, modification, restoration, constitutional amendment and controversy.
