1. If a criminal suffers from mental illness while serving his sentence in prison, the execution organ shall execute it outside the prison. Refer to the relevant provisions of the Prison Law as follows. 2. Article 17 of China's Prison Law stipulates that a prison shall conduct a physical examination on criminals who have been delivered for execution. After examination, a criminal sentenced to life imprisonment or fixed-term imprisonment will not be admitted to prison for the time being under any of the following circumstances: (1) He is seriously ill and needs medical treatment on parole; (2) Women who are pregnant or nursing babies. Criminals listed in the preceding paragraph who are temporarily not in prison shall be temporarily executed outside prison by the people's court that handed them over for execution. If the temporary execution outside prison is socially dangerous, it shall be put in prison for execution. A criminal who is temporarily executed outside prison shall be executed by the public security organ at his place of residence. After the circumstances listed in the preceding paragraph disappear, the criminal whose original sentence has not been completed shall be put into prison by the public security organ.

Article 265 of the Criminal Procedure Law: A criminal sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment or criminal detention may be temporarily executed outside prison under any of the following circumstances: (1) He is seriously ill and needs medical treatment outside prison; (2) Women who are pregnant or nursing babies; (three) life can not take care of themselves, the application of temporary execution outside prison will not harm society. A criminal sentenced to life imprisonment may be temporarily executed outside prison under the circumstances specified in the second paragraph of the preceding paragraph.
