The National Games of the People's Republic of China (hereinafter referred to as the "National Games") is the highest level and largest comprehensive sports meeting in China. The events of the National Games are basically the same as those of the Olympic Games except martial arts. Its original intention is to train new people and select talents for the national Olympic strategy. The National Games is held every four years, usually one year after the Olympic Games. In order to arouse the enthusiasm of all provinces and cities, the State General Administration of Sports introduced the measure of "bringing Olympic medals to the National Games" before the 1996 Olympic Games.
The first sports meeting was held in Beijing from September 1959 to October 3 19/kloc-0. The first nine National Games were held by Beijing, Shanghai and Guangdong in turn. At the beginning of 200 1, the General Office of the State Council officially issued the Letter on Abolishing the Restriction of Beijing, Shanghai and Guangdong Holding the National Games in Turn, which abolished the restriction of Beijing, Shanghai and Guangdong holding the National Games in turn. On 2011August 16, Tianjin won the right to host the 13th National Games in 20 17 after three rounds of secret ballot.
In addition to the National Games, the national comprehensive games also include: National Winter Games, National Youth Games, National Farmers Games, National Minority Traditional Sports Games, National Disabled Games and National Student Games.
