It is because of a project, of course, for the official class, there must be various benefits of direct administration, but for local governments, regardless of ancient and modern times, it must be more weighty.
Many people say that Bashu is the natural land of the two waves in ancient times, and that's right. In terms of cultural origin, Bashu culture is not particularly close, but in fact Bachu culture is closer. But since Qin occupied Bashu and laid the foundation, Bashu has always been an organic whole, and jurisdiction has always been a regional concept.
Many people think that Bashu has an important center of gravity, that is, Yizhou in Chengdu, Jiangzhou or Yuzhou in Chongqing are relatively developed state capitals, which belong to the center of local economy and culture and are not the basis of separation. For example, our envoys after the Tang Dynasty and Si Xia Road in Sichuan after the Song Dynasty. In other words, both Zhouxia District and Yizhou District are managed by local regional centers, which does not mean that they are not in harmony with the envoys in Sichuan at that time. For example, by the Southern Song Dynasty, the overall concept of Sichuan had been established, not to mention that Sichuan was still a province in the Yuan Dynasty, and Chongqing government had also appeared, and Chengdu had always been under the regional concept of Sichuan. On the contrary, due to the origin of Tubo, the ethnic areas in the western Sichuan Plateau did not exist for a long time. Another concept with a long history in western Sichuan is Kangqu.
Sichuan was very large in Ming Dynasty, including Bozhou area in Guizhou. Even if Bozhou was divided during the Wanli period, Zunyi Prefecture still belonged to Sichuan. So it is unreasonable to think that Chongqing and Sichuan are two local areas. This separation problem is purely a later political factor and has nothing to do with regional and cultural factors.
For example, under the special background of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression in the Republic of China, Chongqing was upgraded to the capital, separated from the original Sichuan Province, which was a product of the special background. Therefore, it is unreasonable for 1997 to separate Chongqing from Sichuan again in terms of history, culture and geography. And it is entirely caused by administrative factors. It's just a bunch of inexplicable other cultural sayings, which are barely accepted by more people. Of course, you get used to it over time.
But today, Sichuan and Chongqing are shouting the origin of Sichuan-Chongqing cooperation because of various slogans, which proves once again that the original separation was very puzzling.
However, from another perspective, Sichuan has a dual-core status. Only Jiangsu Province can compare with him in this respect. However, in order to develop the southwest, we have to split up. Practice has proved that. Chongqing and Sichuan, which are separated from each other, have developed independently, showing vigorous vitality. In particular, Chongqing, as a municipality directly under the Central Government, can enjoy more overall allocation of funds, and its social development is also very smooth. Is this not good?
