1928 On February 9th, the Special Committee of Northern Anhui was established, with Wei Yechou, an early activist of our party, as the secretary of the Special Committee, and a special organization was set up to prepare for the revolutionary struggle and violent actions in Northern Anhui. In less than two months, counties in northern Anhui have developed more than 1000 party member, more than 60,000 farmers party member and more than 3,000 farmers Red Guards.

1On April 5, 928, the special committee in northern Anhui held an enlarged meeting to arrange the preparatory work before the uprising in northern Anhui.

On April 9th, the Special Committee of Northern Anhui launched the April 9th Uprising in Fuyang, which shocked northern Anhui. At noon that day, thousands of peasant revolutionary troops gathered in the North Square of Wangguanji. They wore red armbands, held broadswords and spears, and shouted the slogan "Down with the great powers", which shocked the whole country. At the same time, the first revolutionary regime in Anhui Province was established. This is the first time that the Red Army of Workers and Peasants led by our Party was established on the Huanghuai Plain, which promoted the agrarian revolutionary struggle in northern China and dealt a blow to the enemy's counter-revolutionary arrogance. President Mao Zedong spoke highly of the April 9th Uprising. He said, "Although the uprising failed, it ignited the fire of the revolution in northern Anhui."
