Lancang County is located in the southwest of Yunnan Province, and it is named after the Lancang River in the east. It is located between 99 degrees 29 minutes ~ 100 degrees 35 minutes east longitude and 22 degrees 0 1 minute ~23 degrees 16 minutes north latitude. With a total area of 8807 square kilometers, Lancang County is the second largest county in Yunnan Province. The county borders seven counties (cities), including Jinggu, Simao, Menghai, Menglian, Ximeng, Cangyuan and Shuangjiang, and borders Myanmar in the west and southwest.
Lancang County is located in the southern section of Nvshan Mountain in Hengduan Mountains, with high terrain in the northwest and low terrain in the southeast.
