Why should China pursue the non-alignment policy in the new era?
196 1 year, 25 countries held the first summit of heads of state or government of non-aligned countries in Belgrade, Yugoslavia, and officially announced the birth of the Non-Aligned Movement. The Non-Aligned Movement reflects the historical trend that the people of the third world countries demand to control their own destiny, maintain peace and devote themselves to development, so it has strong vitality. It has become an epoch-making milestone in the rise of the second third world country since the Bandung Conference. Since the reform and opening up, China has pursued a diplomatic strategy of non-alignment and peace. The Non-Aligned Movement has a certain influence on China's non-aligned policy, but the most important thing is that it is inseparable from the needs of China's social development. At present, China is an important observer of the countries of the Non-Aligned Movement, but it is not a full member. First, the reason is 1. It stems from the reflection on historical experience and lessons. (1) "Non-alignment" is China's basic national policy, and its theoretical root comes from "What is poetry?" (2) During the new-democratic revolution, the non-alignment thought was manifested in the principle of independence of our party. Independence was first put forward by Mao Zedong in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period, which mainly refers to the principle of independence that is both unified and independent in the anti-Japanese national united front. (3) From the founding of New China to the 1970s, the Sino-Soviet alliance strategy and the Sino-US quasi-alliance strategy were highly dependent and involuntary on China. This alliance limits our independent ability and puts us in a passive position. It is these things that are detrimental to China's interests that make it difficult to maintain the alliance and strategic relationship, and also make our country clearly realize that we must resolutely implement the non-alignment policy. This is the need of developing socialist economic interests in the new period. Non-alignment strategy is an all-round invincible diplomatic strategy, which is mainly reflected in opposing any country as its ally, but advocating strengthening cooperation with other countries in the world, which can create a peaceful and stable international environment for China's modern economic construction. Two. Main Contents The Chinese people and People's Republic of China (PRC) maintain an independent position in the international arena. They do not form alliances or establish military strategic relations with any big country or group of countries, and become vassals of a big country. For any international issue, we always make our own independent judgment based on the merits, so as to decide our own policies and positions; China adheres to principles in international affairs and will never trade principles; We can take advantage of the contradiction between the United States and the Soviet Union, but we will never stand on one side against the other, nor will we engage in "equal distance" diplomacy. Three. Performance in handling international affairs China attaches importance to giving full play to the role of a Member of the United Nations and a permanent member of the Security Council, actively participates in international affairs, does not act according to the will of a few big countries, insists on independent judgment, and decides its own position and policies. At the same time, carry out extensive international cooperation, take care of the overall situation and take care of the majority.
