Laojun Mountain, "A Chinese Odyssey, the first fairy mountain in the world". Formerly known as Shi Jing, it is located three kilometers southeast of Luanchuan County, Luoyang, the ancient capital of the 13th Dynasty. Yuhuangding, the main peak of Funiu Mountain at an altitude of 800 miles, is 22 17 meters above sea level. It has a human history of more than 2000 years and is the longest mountain range in Taoism.
On May 14, 2022, the sea of clouds in Laojun Mountain Scenic Area was selected as the first batch of "weather and climate landscape viewing places" in China.
The landform of Laojun Mountain
Laojun Mountain in Luoyang is located three kilometers southeast of Luanchuan County, Luoyang City, western Henan Province. The original appearance of Laojun Mountain is well preserved, which records the tectonic evolution process of cracking, dispersion, proliferation, aggregation, collision and orogeny in the southern margin of North China ancient land block/kloc-0.9 billion years.
Laojun Mountain is dominated by the landform of middle and low mountains and canyons, and the topography fluctuates greatly. It belongs to the western part of Henan Province in North China Stratigraphic Area, and spans Xiong 'er Mountain Community and Funiu Mountain Community. The exposed strata are Archaean Taihua Group and Lower Proterozoic Kuanping Group.
Great Wall Group of Mesoproterozoic, Guandaokou Group and Luanchuan Group of Jixian County, Wantao Group of Upper Proterozoic, Erlangping Group of Ordovician of Paleozoic, Paleogene and Quaternary have great changes in lithology and lithofacies. There are regional deep faults and complex geological structures.
