What is FTP?
FTP is a standard protocol for transferring files between clients and servers. It adopts client/server mode, and the client program tells the server the client's request and displays the results sent back by the server. The server side performs real work, such as storing and sending files. \x0d\ If users want to send files from their own computers to another computer, this is called FTP upload. More often, users send files or resources from the server to the client, which is called FTP download. Some computers on the Internet are called FTP servers, which store many accessible files, such as text files, image files, program files, sound files, movie files and so on. \x0d\FTP system is a system for transferring files through the Internet. The FTP client must establish a connection with the remote FTP server and log in before transferring files. Usually, users must register in the FTP server, that is, establish a user account, and have a legal login user name and password in order to make an effective FTP connection and login. \x0d\ Most sites provide anonymous FTP service, that is, these sites allow any user to log on to their machines for free and copy files from them. The purpose of this server is to provide free file copying service to the public, so users do not need to register in the server in advance. When establishing a connection with this kind of "anonymous" FTP server, the user name is generally anonymous, and the password can be any string. One of the more common is to use your email address as a password. But this password is neither verified nor enforced. \x0d\FTP is a service system based on client/server mode, which consists of client software, server software and FTP communication protocol. As an application, FTP client software runs on the client computer. Users use FTP commands to connect to FTP servers or transfer files. Generally speaking, standard FTP commands are built into the operating system, and standard browsers also support FTP protocols. Of course, you can also use some special FTP software. The FTP server software runs on the remote host, and a public user account named anonymous is set for the user.
