Dingzhou is flat and endless. Shahe River, Mengliang River and Tanghe River cross the whole territory. The terrain is slightly inclined from northwest to southeast, and its natural landscape is divided into three landscape zones: foothill alluvial fan plain, alluvial plain and seaside plain. The slope of the ground is between 1.4%~0.7%, forming a micro-undulating landform of hills, depressions and alluvial fan plains such as sand hills and floodplains.
Dingzhou belongs to temperate-warm temperate semi-humid and semi-arid continental monsoon climate, which belongs to semi-humid and warm-humid climate zone.
