It's actually quite simple. Serbia's Kosovo Albanian autonomous province, one of the former Yugoslav republics, wanted independence and was suppressed by Serbia. Then NATO bombed Yugoslavia under the slogan of human rights to help Kosovo become independent. During the Kosovo war, the military targets and infrastructure of Yugoslavia were bombed continuously for 78 days.
