Lover's Saint is a film based on The Journey to the West, an ancient China writer Wu Cheng'en. The film is directed by the famous director Liu Zhenwei, starring Nicholas Tse, Charlene Choi and Fan Bingbing. It was released in Hong Kong on February 22nd, 2005.
The film tells a little-known story of Tang Priest's official experience of "August 1st Disaster": Tang Priest came to shache City with three disciples-the Monkey King, Pig Bajie and Friar Sand. No one expected that it was here that Tang Priest met the most difficult test before becoming a saint, and only he could pass this test.
The Monkey King (played by Chen Bailin) is impulsive, seemingly indifferent, and unwilling to escort the Tang Priest to fetch scriptures. In times of crisis, he once disdained to write biographies for his teachers. Only after experiencing Where Are You Going, did he know how to cherish the feelings of mentoring.
