There are 34 million children suffering from deafness or hearing loss, of which 60% are caused by preventable causes. /kloc-Among people aged 0/2-35, nearly 50% are at risk of hearing loss due to long-term and excessive exposure to loud sounds (including listening to music through personal audio equipment). At the other end of life, about one third of people over the age of 65 are affected by disabling hearing loss.
The World Hearing Report released by WHO in 20021shows that the number of people suffering from hearing loss and at risk of hearing loss is increasing year by year. 50% hearing loss can be prevented by public health measures, and noise control is one of the seven key interventions to maintain hearing.
