Dear parents, good afternoon! I am a math teacher in Class 74 and Class 75, Grade 3-Miss Zhou Yijun. Entrusted by the third grade group and the third grade math preparation group, I speak at this parent-teacher meeting on behalf of the math teachers in this group.
First of all, I am very grateful to all parents and friends for taking time out of their busy schedules to attend the parent-teacher conference of Grade Three in our school. Secondly, I want to talk to my parents and friends about the related problems of mathematics teaching and learning in this period.
First, the arrangement of teaching content.
Due to the long term, short review time and heavy task of the senior high school entrance examination in the next semester, all the teachers in our junior high school mathematics preparation group unanimously agreed that the teaching content of this semester includes quadratic equation in one variable, proposition and proof, similarity of figures, acute trigonometric function, calculation of probability and quadratic function, inverse proportional function and circle in the next textbook. Therefore, the teaching content in this period is very diverse and the task is very heavy. Especially the application of quadratic equation, geometric proof, quadratic function and its application, the application of inverse proportional function and the synthesis of circle and function geometry are the teaching difficulties in this period.
Second: How do parents know about their children's math learning at school?
You can call the math teacher, or go to school to find out, or you can get a general idea of your child's learning by carefully observing his homework, classroom notebooks and analyzing exam results. If he does his homework carefully, corrects his mistakes in time, takes class notes carefully, and studies and reviews his notes frequently, such a child will certainly be serious in math study and get good grades in the exam. On the contrary, it shows that he doesn't study hard and his grades are definitely not ideal. Therefore, parents should carefully observe their children's homework-"original innovative classroom", weekend homework-"three point one test", newspaper exercises and notebooks, so as to understand their children's learning situation and urge them to study mathematics at ordinary times.
Third: How can parents guide their children to use reference books correctly?
To learn math well, we must do more problems-this is the view of most parents. So every time the school starts, parents will buy many reference books for their children. As we all know, students nowadays are very busy and have little time to scan. Our teacher's point of view is: first, we should make good use of the learning materials sent by the teacher and understand every question in the materials, instead of over-expounding; In fact, all subjects have spare capacity, and you can choose reference books or exercises appropriately to improve them.
Fourth: How do parents shoulder the responsibility of supervising their children's learning mathematics?
Some parents complain that their math level is too low to help their children learn math because of forgetfulness and other reasons. In fact, the child's study is his own business, and neither parents nor teachers can replace it. When I am doing ideological work for students, I often say to them, "There are some things in the world that others can do instead of you. At this time, you should be a smart person and be good at using external factors to serve yourself. Some things are irreplaceable. Normal people's eating, drinking and sleeping are irreplaceable by others, and so is real learning! " Therefore, as a parent, you should take the responsibility of urging your child to learn mathematics, urge him to finish his homework on time with good quality and quantity, correct his mistakes in learning, and constantly review and consolidate! In this way, you often send a message to your children: I care about your math study very much, and math is very important!
Fifth, we should attach great importance to the mistakes and problems in mathematics learning.
On the problem of error correction, I often say a slogan to students, for example. One slogan is: don't let go of any small problem. For example, a snowflake is a small problem. If a snowflake falls on your hand, it will melt easily depending on your ability (body temperature). If you ignore small problems and accumulate them, such as snowflakes accumulating into a small snowball, you wake up early, and after some efforts, you can still melt it by yourself, and the price you pay at this time may be cold hands and a lot of pain; If you still ignore it, the little snowball will roll into a bigger snowball, which is beyond your body's capacity. You can't melt it again. You were completely frozen before you melted this big snowball. Therefore, we should be good at correcting mistakes in time in mathematics learning to prevent the accumulation of knowledge defects; In fact, the progress of learning is realized in the process of constant error correction, and learning to do wrong questions is progress; Countless small progress, every little makes a mickle, will make great progress.
Sixth; About the way of tutoring.
Some parents say that their family education is very strict. I think: strictness means strictly observing the defense line and not going out of line. Strictly speaking, it is not everything, and children are bound everywhere. Wrong, wrong, bad, bad, strict, uncompromising with a straight face, is autocracy, not strict in the true sense. For example, if a child has problems with math learning, it is out of line. You get angry, beat and scold, tear up the book, and the children dare not come back to meet the requirements. This is strict. It is also strict for you to make sense against the wind and drizzle and let the children realize their mistakes and do it again. Of course, it is better to strictly guard the line of defense and not hurt the children.
Now educate children and advocate tolerance. In fact, tolerance is not connivance, regardless of the child's fault. Tolerance refers to psychological understanding. The child made a mistake, we should understand, because he is a child after all, and we can't get angry when the child makes a mistake. But you can't relax your requirements just because you understand. To put it simply: I understand you, but I won't accommodate you, let alone you.
Seventh: About the study of Olympic Mathematics.
Learning Olympic Mathematics and taking Olympic Mathematics classes have become hot words among students and parents, because many students, regardless of their level, are ideally famous schools and key high schools inside and outside the city. Some of the learning contents of the Olympic Mathematics course are the deepening and expansion of teaching materials and knowledge, and some are specialized competition knowledge and skills. Our math teacher's point of view is that not every student can learn the knowledge of Olympiad well and master its skills! More specifically, the vast majority of students are not suitable for studying Olympic Mathematics at all. A child who can really learn Olympic Mathematics well must have a solid foundation, good habits, extremely agile thinking, strong self-motivation and fighting spirit, and be particularly excellent. However, how many people can occupy a place at the top of the pyramid of talent and ability? Therefore, it is unwise for some parents to blindly follow the trend regardless of their children's actual olympiad and only rely on their subjective wishes. Most of our students should lay a solid foundation wholeheartedly and stick to the senior high school entrance examination, instead of coping with the selection examinations of other famous schools! Parents and friends must have a truly practical and correct positioning for their children!
