Los Angeles Lakers, a basketball club located in Los Angeles, California, USA, 1947 was founded in Minneapolis, and 1960 moved to Los Angeles. The name Lakers comes from another name in Minneapolis-the land of thousands of lakes, which refers to people who work or live in the Great Lakes in the northeastern United States.
