1. Test port status
By default, the ports used by BT are TCP connections of 688 1 and 6882 ... 6889 (only one port is used for each download, which is allocated in sequence). We can go to the test page of the electric donkey to test the port, enter, enter 688 1, and then press "Test" to see the status of the BT download port.
Depending on the state of the port, three different results are returned. The port is blocked or the firewall is opened, as shown in figure1; The port is open. Is the 688 1 port in use? BT on, as shown in figure 2; The port is open, but the 688 1 port is useless? BT is not turned on, as shown in figure 3. The port used by BT is 688 1~6889. Please test the ports one by one.

2. Open the download port
Taking ICF in Windows XP and other professional firewalls (Skynet Firewall) as an example, the BT download port of open firewall is explained.
1 Open the BT download port in ICF of Windows XP.
ICF is the abbreviation of "Internet Connection Firewall", that is, Internet Connection Firewall. ICF is built between your computer and the Internet. It can let the data you requested pass, and at the same time block the packets you didn't request. This is a packet-based firewall. Sometimes when using BT, ICF will block the connection to SEED or delay the download speed. Therefore, it is necessary for us to set the ports used by BT in ICF not to be blocked.
Right-click "My Network Places" and select "Properties" in the pop-up menu to open the network connection window. Right-click the connection you use to surf the Internet and select Properties from the pop-up menu to open the Local Connection Properties window. Select the Advanced tab, and then click the Settings button at the bottom of the window to open the Advanced Settings window. There are some common network services on this page. Now we want to add new BT services. Click the Add button below to open the Service Settings window, as shown in Figure 4.
Figure 4
In this window, you can fill in the column of "service description" at will, just fill in the column of "the name or IP address of the computer hosting this service on your network", the column of "external port number of this server" and the column of "external port number of this server" with 68865438.
This will add a "BT" service in the "Services" column of the "Advanced Settings" page, as shown in Figure 5. This service is open to port 688 1. Similarly, you can create a new service with ports 6882~6889.
Figure 5
Now our BT can pass freely in ICF.
2 Open BT download port in other professional firewalls
Many computers do not have ICF turned on, but other professional firewalls are installed. Taking the personal firewall 2.5.0, which is common in Skynet, as an example, this paper explains how to set up an open BT download port. Other firewalls can refer to the settings.
Click the "Customize IP Rules" button of Skynet. Click Add Rule on the Customize IP Rule page to open the Modify IP Rule window.
You can fill in the column of "Name" at will, and fill in some simple descriptions of the above names in the column of "Description" at will. Select "receive or send" in the column of "packet direction", select "any address" in the IP address of the other party, then select the TCP page, fill in "from 688 1 to 6889" in the column of "local port", check "SYN" in the column of "TCP flag", and finally check "when it meets" now. Select the check box in front of it, and then click the Save Rule icon above. Everything's fine.
Through the above settings, public users can experience the fun of BT high-speed download.

Solution of ISP encapsulating BT 688 1~6889 port
If the ISP has blocked the download port 688 1~6889 of BT, we can break through the blockade by adding parameters to the command that runs when opening the "torrent" file in the file type. The specific operation is (taking Windows 2000 as an example):
Select the file type in the folder options page, find the extension TORRENT, click Advanced, select Open in the window that opens, and then click Edit. The bottom line of the editing window is the command line parameter to start bt. After adding a space at the end of the line, add the following parameters to control the port binding: -minport minimum port number -maxport maximum port number. For example, on my machine, it used to be "c: \ program files \ BitTorrent \ btdownloadgui.exe"-response file "%1", but now it is changed to "c: \ program files \ BitTorrent \ btdownloadgui.exe"-response file "%1". Please set the port number at will, not within the original range of 688 1~6889.
But if our BT download software is BitTorrent5. X.X trial version, we can change the settings directly in the program. If the original version or modified version 3. X.X is used, which can be modified by the above method.
