Overview of Nanyang dialect
Nanyang dialect belongs to one of several dialects in Henan dialect, and its original meaning is not lost by its image or meaning, such as "boasting", "seeing" means "seeing", "not governing" means "shaking" and "impatience" means "being short-tempered" and "beginning". Its second major feature is that it is a phonetic number, such as six, land, land, green and so on. The pronunciation of these words is far from that of Beijing dialect and Mandarin, and so on. Nanyang was an important economic and cultural center at the turn of Zhou and Qin Dynasties. Qin unified the languages of the six countries and implemented the policy of "homonymization of characters", so many ancient sounds and characters have been preserved by the people so far. Nanyang is also a place where the Central Plains and Southern Chu communicate, and there are many literati, so a considerable number of ancient characters have been preserved by local people. This dialect has a strong flavor of Jingchu and a distinctive Confucian color. Its life language, two-part allegorical sayings and folk songs are humorous and simple, which has high academic and artistic value.
