When will ginger be harvested?
The ginger we eat is usually harvested around winter, and most ginger farmers harvest it from the middle and late of 5438+1October to 5438+1October, because the taste of ginger is spicy at this time, the size and output of ginger pieces are relatively large, and it is convenient to transport in winter. When we harvest fresh ginger, it should be1mid to late October in the north and 1 1 early month in the south, so we can harvest it before the cold comes. This season will be the season of "harvesting fresh ginger", and the harvest time will be about three to four days. When harvesting, you can water it first, then pull out the whole plant and shake off the soil on the roots, and then you can transport or store it.
When harvesting tender ginger, we should harvest tender ginger as early as possible in the vigorous growth period, because at this time, the plant has more water content, the rhizome is immature, crisp and tender, and the fiber is less, the taste is light, and the yield is low and underdeveloped, so the tender ginger harvested at this time is mainly used for pickling and processing ginger slices or ginger buds.
When we harvest ginger, we need to plant ginger again because ginger is different from other crops. When harvesting, the ginger slices should be kept basically intact to avoid rot, and the weight of ginger slices should be kept basically unchanged. Planting ginger can be harvested with fresh ginger before the first frost comes, or it can be received when it arrives in early autumn. It is called "picking old ginger" in the north and "stealing mother ginger" in the south. Our harvesting method is to choose sunny days.
