Manchester has a developed economy. Manchester City F.C, nicknamed "Blue Moon" and slogan "Superbia in Proelio", means "pride in battle", is located in Manchester, England. Formerly known as 1880, 1887 was renamed as Advwick AFC, and 1894 was renamed.

In 2008, Manchester City was acquired by an Arab consortium from the Middle East. In May 12, Manchester City defended the Premier League title.
