1On August 7th, 927, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China held an emergency meeting in Hankou, Hubei Province to summarize the reasons for the failure of the Great Revolution. Many participants sharply criticized Chen Duxiu, * * * international representatives and Soviet advisers for their right-leaning tendencies in dealing with the Kuomintang, peasant land, armed struggle and other issues. Mao Zedong pointed out in his speech that one of the mistakes made by the CPC Central Committee was that it did not know the extreme importance of the army. He stressed that the whole party "should attach great importance to the army and know that political power comes from the barrel of a gun." Mao Zedong's opinion pointedly pointed out the experience and lessons of the failure of the Great Revolution, and also pointed out the correct direction for the basic road of the China Revolution.
