Wudu District is a municipal district under the jurisdiction of Longnan City, Gansu Province, located in the southeast of Gansu Province, the central and western parts of Longnan City and the middle reaches of Bailong River. Wudu, as a place name, began in the pre-Qin Dynasty, with Wudu County in the Western Han Dynasty, Wuzhou in the Northern Wei Dynasty, Jiezhou in the Tang Dynasty, Wudu County in the Republic of China and a county in 2004. Wudu District is the economic, cultural and transportation center of Longnan, an important transportation hub and commercial logistics center in the south of the province, and one of the regional central cities in southeastern Gansu.
Wudu District governs 36 towns, 4 streets, 650 villages and 58 communities. It covers an area of 4,683 square kilometers and has 708,200 mu of cultivated land. The resident population is 5466 16000 (7%), and the urbanization rate is 43.02%(20 19). Wudu District, located at the junction of Qin and Ba, is known as the throat of Ba-Shu and the lock key of Qin-Long, and it is the traffic artery of Gansu, Shaanxi and Sichuan provinces.
