When people use the concept of "Ningxiang people" to refer to people in Ningxiang County of Changsha City, the corresponding people living in urban areas are called "Changsha people".

From the perspective of dialect, the urban area has also firmly grasped the right to interpret the word "Changsha". Changsha dialect is an urban dialect, but Ningxiang dialect and Liuyang dialect are not. I don't know if there are any concepts of Wangcheng dialect and Xingsha dialect, but there are differences.

Finally, tell me an experience:

When you enter the university, you should introduce yourself. Everyone comes from all over the world. After a lecture, a classmate told me that he was also from Changsha and asked me where I came from. I was asked a lot at that time, and I thought, where else can Changsha be? Is it the south gate of Changsha?

Later, he said he was from Liuyang, and it dawned on me. Obviously, it is correct for mainlanders who are not familiar with Hunan to say that they are from Changsha, Hunan, rather than Liuyang. The overlapping of the word Changsha in "prefecture-level city" and "urban area" leads to misunderstanding.
