Handprint practice in Taoism is called "Tai Chi Yin Yang Eight Diagrams Chain Tactics", also known as "Tai Chi Tactics", "Tai Chi Seal" or "Meridian Tactics". The specific approach is:
When holding the tactic with both hands, the man takes the tiger's mouth in his left hand and holds four fingers in his right hand (the woman's right hand takes the tiger's mouth and holds four fingers in her left hand). Because the man's left hand is yang and the woman's right hand is yang, the yang hand lives outside and the yin hand lives inside), while the right hand holds the left thumb (the woman holds the left hand and the right thumb). At the same time, the big fingers of both hands touch the Laogong point of the other palm (the depression in the middle of the palm).
In this way, the thumb of both hands forms the shape of "Tai Chi Diagram" in the tiger's mouth (the thumb is in the palm of the other hand, that is, the two eyes of Tai Chi Diagram are used to connect their yin and yang), and the other four fingers represent "gossip", so it is called "Tai Chi Yin and Yang gossip chain tactics". If the yang hand protects the yin hand and the yin hand holds the yang hand, it means "negative yin holds the yang" in the Tao Te Ching.
Of course, it's not just the meridian tactic. If you practice other inner alchemy methods or intentional methods, other corresponding hand decisions are also possible, but ordinary meditation is the meridian tactic.
