In the early days of the establishment of the Literature Research Association, in addition to publishing publications and editing series, a "reading club" was also organized. The reading club consists of China literature group, English literature group, Russian literature group, Japanese literature group (grouped by country), novel group, poetry group, drama literature group and critical literature group (grouped by literature category).
It is stipulated that all members of the literary research society must join the reading club. This has played a positive role in improving members' literary literacy and creative research level.
Achievements:
The Literature Research Association attaches great importance to the research and introduction of foreign literature. Half of their purpose is to introduce foreign literature and promote the development of China's new literature, and the other half is to introduce the world's modern thoughts (the responsibility and efforts of Mao Dun's new literature researchers). They focus on translating realistic masterpieces from Russia (including the later Soviet Union), France, northern and eastern European countries, Japan, India and other countries.
This paper introduces the works of Pushkin, Tolstoy, Turgenev, Chekhov, Gorky, Mo Bosang, romain rolland, Ibsen, Senkovski, Arzhpesov, Antell, Byron, Tagore, Andersen, Bernard Shaw and Wilde.
The Journal of the Association, Fiction Monthly, published special issues such as Russian Literature Research and French Literature Research, and special issues such as Damaged National Literature, and published picture books such as Tagore, Byron and Andersen, which made great efforts in introducing foreign progressive realistic literature.
