China clearly stated that it will strive to achieve the peak of carbon dioxide emission by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2060. In this regard, China Institute of Engineering has set up major consulting projects, organized more than 40 academicians, more than 300 experts and dozens of units, focusing on industrial structure, energy, electricity, industry, construction, transportation, carbon removal and other fields.
The strategy and path to achieve carbon neutrality at the peak of carbon dioxide emission in China are systematically studied. In order to promote carbon neutrality in the peak period of carbon dioxide emission in an orderly manner, we should adhere to eight strategies: saving priority strategy, energy security strategy, non-fossil energy substitution strategy, re-electrification strategy, resource recycling strategy, carbon fixation strategy, digitalization strategy and international cooperation strategy.
On this basis, the peak value of carbon dioxide emissions will achieve carbon neutrality through the following paths: First, improve the quality and efficiency of economic development, and decouple economic development from carbon emissions through the optimization and upgrading of industrial structure.
The second is to build a clean, low-carbon, safe and efficient energy system; Third, speed up the construction of a new power system with new energy as the main body, and achieve zero net emissions in the power industry safely and steadily; Fourth, supported by electrification and deep decarbonization technology, we will promote the orderly peaking and gradual neutralization of industrial fields.
Fifth, realize the low-carbon transformation of vehicles through high proportion electrification, and promote carbon neutrality in the transportation field at the peak of carbon dioxide emission; Sixth, focus on breaking through the key technologies of green buildings to achieve zero carbon emissions of electricity and heat in buildings; Seventh, do a good job in carbon removal and bottoming technology to achieve the "last mile" of carbon neutrality.
The research results were released at the 6th International Conference on Innovation and Emerging Industries held on the same day. The conference is held online and offline, inviting experts, scholars and innovative entrepreneurs at home and abroad to conduct open interactive exchanges on major scientific and technological innovations and the development of emerging industries, and talk about new opportunities for global scientific and technological innovation. )
