Criteria for the division of large, medium and small cities:

The division of large, medium and small cities is based on the number of non-agricultural official accounts registered by the public security department, and according to the standards stipulated in the Regulations on Urban Planning promulgated by the State Council. At present, the division standard is to divide the city scale according to the total number of non-agricultural population in urban areas (excluding counties under the jurisdiction of cities).

(1) 1 ten thousand people are megacities;

(2) 500- 1 10,000 people are big cities;

(3) 200,000 to 500,000 people are medium-sized cities;

(4) Small cities with a population of less than 200,000.
