Danxia Mountain, an endless mountain range, red cliffs and red walls, is located 8 kilometers south of Renhua County. Tied with Luofu, Xiqiao and Dinghu as one of the four famous mountains in Guangdong.

Danxia Mountain, formerly known as Elder Village, was founded by Li Yongmao, an old man of the Ming Dynasty. Li Yongmao, whose real name is Bozi, is a Taoist priest and governor of Qianzhou (now Ganzhou) in Nanming. Retired to the Elder Village because of defeat and bought this mountain. The rock is composed of red sandstone, which is "colorful as Dan and bright as Xia". It is quite similar to its hometown of Danxia Mountain in Dengzhou, Henan Province, so it was renamed "Danxia Mountain" and has been used ever since.

After Mianshui moved into Jinjiang, I saw mountains rising from the ground and towering on both sides, and reddish-brown rocks looming among the green trees. Jinjiang is like a belt, flowing around the peak. The river is clear and green, and the colorful brocade stones at the bottom of the river are clearly discernible. This is the scenic spot of Danxia Mountain, the "Sound of Golden Water Beach".

The peaks of Danxia Mountain, like those of Guilin, stand out from the crowd on the flat ground, with strange rocks like forests, which are quite similar to the landscape of Lijiang River in Guilin. But the two are just appearances, and their geological structures and causes are different. Danxia Mountain does not belong to the karst terrain composed of limestone, but the representative of geographical pseudo-karst terrain-"Danxia terrain". According to geologists, it was a huge lake more than 20 million years ago. Later, the earth's crust rose, the bottom of the lake was exposed to the ground, and the rock layers were eroded by wind and rain, which became the wonders of today's peak forest.

Danxia Mountain stands in thousands of valleys in Qianshan Mountain in northern Guangdong Province. Qu Dajun, a poet in the Qing Dynasty, called it "the place to cover mountains and water" in Xinyu, Guangdong, which is famous for its antiquity, danger, strangeness and beauty. The landscape is divided into three layers: upper, middle and lower. The lower brocade rock has a strange and quiet scenery. Fu, the magistrate of Shaozhou in Jiajing, Ming Dynasty, once said, "Its landscape is as wonderful as Wuyi." Zhang Dazhao of the Ming Dynasty also said: "The famous mountains in eastern Guangdong are not easy to be poor, and the scenery in Jin Yan is so beautiful. Natural stone houses are vast for ages, and the ground holds green snails in the air. " The history of Jin Yan can be traced back to the Five Dynasties of the Tang Dynasty. At that time, a Buddhist named Fayun was resting here. Seeing the dangerous mountains here, like a pass, there are naturally several stone halls between the cliffs. I can't help but sigh: "I have been dreaming for half my life, but today I feel empty!" " He lived in seclusion here and gathered more than 100 monks. Today, there are still three inscriptions on Jin Yan, namely "Meng Jue Guan". On the stone wall of Jin Yan, there is the word "Jin Yan" written by Zhao Rulai (1246) in the Southern Song Dynasty, which is five feet square and extremely eye-catching. In the 19th year of Jiajing (1540), the inscription of Fu, the magistrate of Shaozhou, read: "Jin Yan is dozens of feet high and has five colors of staggered stones, hence its name; Or there are five-color clouds in the rock, hence the name. "

Shimenguan, an intermediate scenic spot, was built with stone by Li Yongmao, the founder of Danxia Mountain. On the cliff on the left, there are Zhang Ying stone carvings that are "the first in Zen forest" and "beyond the reach of the world of mortals", and the lintel reads "Biechuan Temple in Danxia Mountain". Biechuan Temple originated from the legacy of Nanming. Jinbao, the word Daoyin, is from Renhe, Zhejiang. Nan Mingyong is a famous calligrapher. He was a soldier for a long time. Qing soldiers broke Guilin, and he became a monk at Haimin Temple in Guangzhou, taking his own dharma name, which is also called Dangui today. At that time, Li Yongmao left Danxia Mountain with the ambition of restoring Daming Mountain. His younger brother Li Chongmao invited the monks of Haikuang Temple to give him the mountain. Monk Dangui transformed the original living room into the hall of the Sixth Ancestral Hall, officially named it "Biechuan Temple in Danxia Mountain", and wrote The Story of Danxia Mountain, stating the whole story of it and Zhi Ming. The temple was destroyed several times, and the existing temple was built by/kloc-0 in 934 to raise money for Guangdong Governor Li Hanhun.

The "Tian Tongguan" and "Dengtianguan" in the upper scenic spot bring together the essence of Danxia's strangeness, danger and beauty. "Tian Tong Pass" is the only access to the summit. The left side faces the abyss, and the cliff is engraved with inscriptions such as "Breathing through the sky" and "A hundred feet of pole head" in the Qing Dynasty. "Dengtianguan" faces the canyon abyss, reaches the top of the skyscraper, closes the door and stands on the cliff. It is made of rock with four Chinese characters "If you want to ascend to heaven", also known as "Xiaguan". After climbing the two passes, you can climb to the top of the three peaks of the elder Danxia, Zhu Bao and Conch, and enjoy the spectacular Danxia scenery and the splendid sunrise.
