China Tourism Day originated on May 19, 2006. Ma Shaoqin of Ninghai, Zhejiang initiated the establishment of "China Tourism Day" in the name of Ninghai Xu Xiake Travel Club, and suggested that the opening day of the first diary of Xu Xiake's Travels (May 19) be named China Tourism Day.

The image slogan of "China Tourism Day" is "Love Travel, Love Life". The slogan is simple, lively, loud and catchy, which highly summarizes the theme of "China Tourism Day" and advocates more China people to go out of their homes and participate in tourism activities extensively to improve their quality of life. The logo of "China Tourism Day" was revised and perfected by a professional organization according to the application of an art teacher in Changchun City, Jilin Province.

World tourism day is a festival designated by the World Tourism Organization for tourism workers and tourists. 1970 On September 27th, the International Official Tourism Union adopted the Constitution of the World Tourism Organization at the special congress held in Mexico City. To commemorate this day, the Third Congress of the World Tourism Organization officially designated September 27th as world tourism day in September 1979.
