It is the holy land of Quanzhen Dragon Sect of Taoism and one of the famous Taoist mountains in China.
Qingcheng Mountain has a long history. According to legend, when Emperor Xuanyuan lived in Qingcheng Mountain, Ning Fengzi taught the Yellow Emperor the art of "Yue Long", and the Yellow Emperor built an altar to worship him as the "father of the five mountains", so later generations also called Qingcheng Mountain the father-in-law mountain and built a memorial (father-in-law view). In ancient times, Qingcheng Mountain, Wudang Mountain in Hubei Province, Longhu Mountain in Jiangxi Province, Yun Qi in Anhui Province and Jingfushan Mountain in Shaanxi Province were collectively called Five Immortals Mountain, and they were dedicated to Ningfeng Zhenjun, Zhenwudang Modi, Haotian Jade Emperor, Demon-reducing and Taoist-protecting Tianzun and Guangdu Tianzun respectively.
