Near Suntory, Baoshan Road (now No.220 ~ 300, Baoshan Road)
Baoshan Road is located in Zhabei, the border of China, where poor China people live. This land became the most intense place for the third armed uprising of Shanghai workers.
1927 On the morning of April 13, the Shanghai Federation of Trade Unions once again issued a general strike declaration to all sectors of society. On the morning of 10, a workers' mass meeting was held in Qingyun Road Square, Zhabei, attended by more than 60,000 people. In the afternoon 1, the workers shouted slogans, and the parade went near Sandri on Baoshan Road. Chiang Kai-shek ordered heavily armed troops ambushing in Catholic churches and nearby alleys to suddenly rush out and shoot at the parade. This is a scene from the appalling April 12 counter-revolutionary massacre. On April 12- 15 alone, more than 300 party member and revolutionary people were massacred, more than 500 people were arrested and more than 5,000 people were missing. The people of Zhabei and Baoshan Road left a tragic page in the history of China people's revolution.
1977 12, the Shanghai Revolutionary Committee announced that the vicinity of Sandri on Baoshan Road was listed as a revolutionary memorial.
Shanghai Christian Zhabei Church
Shanghai Christian Zhabei Church, formerly known as Hongkou Presbyterian Church, was founded in 1888 with a history of 1 15 years. The church was originally presided over by John Fan, an American Presbyterian missionary, and elder Chen Zhigu. 1894, Pastor Yu Guozhen served as a priest and presided over the sacrament for 30 years. Pastor Yu called on the China Church to be independent and get rid of the control of foreign churches. 1904, mobilized believers to donate money to build a church on Haining Road, named Gigi Lai Presbyterian Hall on Haining Road, Hubei Province. 19 14, the house on haining road was sold, and a new clubhouse was built near the commercial press of Bao Tong road in Zhabei district, renamed as Zhabei Gigi Lai Presbyterian clubhouse. From 1927, Zhabei Church was renamed as China Christian Zhabei Church.
1927, Shanghai workers held the third armed uprising. Zhabeitang believers working in the Commercial Press joined other workers in the uprising. Chen Anfang, a young believer, died unfortunately while rescuing the wounded, leaving his daughter who was only six months old.
Zhabei Guild Hall was destroyed by Japanese invaders in 1932. 1936 was rebuilt. On August 1937, Zhabei Hall was destroyed by Japanese imperialist artillery fire again until 1947 was rebuilt.
After the birth of New China, the Christians of Zhabei Church took part in the Christian Three-Self Patriotic Movement and realized the dream of self-reliance of the church. 1958, the churches of different Christian sects in Zhabei district were united, and the national 16 churches were merged into Zhabei church, thus realizing the unification of the churches in China. After ten years of turmoil, church activities were forced to stop, and Zhabei Hall was occupied by factories. 198 1 In the second half of the year, the church took back Zhabei Church, which was restored in July 1982 after renovation. A new auditorium and office building have been built. 1996, in order to meet the religious needs of Christians in Peng Pu, a branch of Zhabei Hall Lingquan Hall was built at Linfen Road 1555.
Zhabeitang's history of more than one hundred years is closely related to the fate of the country and the nation.
