At the time of reexamination, all esophageal varices disappeared, but the patient developed severe encephalopathy and his quality of life was extremely poor. At that time, there was little clinical knowledge about the hemodynamics of portal hypertension, so I opened a train of thought from this case, and the hemodynamic changes of portal hypertension and portal vein shunt may be related to this. Since then, I have persevered, gained valuable experience after 20 years of experimental and clinical research, and my theory has been recognized by my counterparts in France and the United States, and won the second prize of the Ministry and the national scientific and technological progress achievements.
