"The Chinese nation is a peace-loving nation." This is the first sentence that the government responds whenever other countries accuse us of increasing military spending. This sentence is correct. We really love peace.
The Chinese nation is not only a peace-loving nation, but also a nation that is good at using metaphors. We compare it to "fighting a people's war" when it comes to family planning, drug control and opposing "two robberies"; As small as a cleaning, an exam and a ball game, we compare it to "fighting a war of annihilation and a tough battle." These vivid and concrete metaphors often make our blood boil and our motivation increase greatly. These metaphors are also true.
The problem is that everyone can say nice things like "a peace-loving nation", but metaphors like "a people's war" and "a war of annihilation and a tough battle" reflect the psychological disadvantage of foreigners.
The Chinese nation suffered too much, and those painful historical lessons should of course be remembered forever. Remember, that is to spur us to strive for self-improvement from time to time. It is understandable that we all have hatred for the countries that invaded us more or less. We should turn hatred into a progressive force instead of always talking about hatred. Everyone should understand these truths and do exactly the same.
But unconsciously, most people are still talking about hatred. In the current environment where peace and development are the theme of the times, China should not and cannot recover the blood debt from the countries that invaded us, but the oppression in the hearts of Chinese people cannot be solved, so we have to unconsciously hurt the "war".
Compare the term our feelings to all the difficulties we need to solve, so as to discharge our dissatisfaction. All this is revealed by most people's unconsciousness, and they are deeply involved in it without knowing it. The crazy collective unconscious is also a great pleasure.
Words full of violent metaphors, such as "war", can be seen everywhere, from party newspapers and political journals to propaganda slogans and mobilization slogans, all of which are full of their "beautiful images", and even our usual names for sports activities, especially ball games, are deeply branded with them. For example, playing basketball in English means playing, but we extend it to playing basketball and so on. "hit" is of course a violent word, and "hit" is "hit" in English, but I have never heard of "hit basketball".
A few people have problems with their thinking, and most people can correct them. When most people make an ideological mistake, that is, "collective unconsciousness", the situation is much more serious. Of course, several violent metaphors can't have any influence on the truth that "the Chinese nation is a peace-loving nation", but we still have to prevent slow progress and nip bad signs in the bud, which is in line with the requirements of building a harmonious society.
The metaphor of violence in language is a trivial matter, but it reflects the big psychological problem of China people. Let's all mobilize to fight a beautiful people's war, annihilate the enemy's "metaphor of language violence" and go deep into our minds!
