In order to obtain a certain weld width, the welding wire can swing, but the swing must not destroy the CO2 gas protection effect. When the arc is closed, the arc pit must be filled, and the gas cannot stop before the molten pool solidifies. When the plate is flat, the arc is usually closed with an arc extinguishing plate.
When CO2 welding, avoid the wind as much as possible, and the ambient temperature shall not be lower than-10. Check whether the specifications are stable at any time during welding, and adjust them in time if there is any problem.
Advantages and disadvantages of double-sided shielded welding;
Advantages:
1, gas shielded welding has strong penetration, high welding current density (100-300A/m2), small deformation and high production efficiency.
2. The price of carbon dioxide gas is low, and the cleaning of workpieces before welding can be simplified, and the welding cost is only 40%-50% of that of covered electrode arc welding.
3, the weld has strong rust resistance, low hydrogen content and small cold cracking tendency.
Disadvantages:
1. There is a lot of metal spatter during welding, especially when the process parameters are not matched.
2. It is impossible to weld easily oxidized metal materials, and the wind resistance is poor. When working in the field or leaking air, windproof measures need to be taken.
3, welding arc is strong, pay attention to arc radiation.
