Drums of different nationalities have different shapes due to different popular areas and occasions. It is mostly used in traditional national festivals, weddings, funerals and festive occasions, folk instrumental ensemble and opera accompaniment.
Drum of Zhuang nationality: Drum of Zhuang nationality is popular in western Guangxi of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The drum frame is made of Chinese fir or miscellaneous wood, which is oblate, slightly arched at the waist, covered with cowhide on both sides, and the leather surface is fixed with a single row of big hat copper nails. The drum head is 30 cm in diameter and 22 cm in height. The outer surface of the drum frame is painted with red paint, and there are three copper drum rings around the drum waist (pictured). When playing, put the drum on the drum stand or wooden stool and play with a wooden drum pestle in each hand. The pronunciation is short and the timbre is crisp. It is often used to accompany an eight-tone band ensemble or a Zhuang opera, and it is an inseparable rhythmic instrument. It is also used in national festivals or occasions such as civil weddings, funerals and celebrations.
